How The Fashion Foundation Operates
Designers and retailers donate their samples and unwanted product to The Fashion Foundation.
We sell the donated items at a fraction of the retail cost on our website for customers around the world to shop.
With the funds raised from sales, donations and fundraisers, we buy schools the supplies their students need and can not afford.
the result
200,000+
pounds of designer merchandise sent to The Fashion Foundation to support our mission.
40,000+
children throughout New York personally impacted by our organization.
We work with some of the fashion industries leading designers and retailers to fill our shop with products. Brands like Calvin Klein, Rebecca Minkoff, Marchesa, Amanda Uprichard, Komar, Show Me Your Mumu, Gorjana and more donate samples or any product they no longer need to The Fashion Foundation.
The samples that were once lying around their office are now being used at The Fashion Foundation to fund our students and provide them with learning tools.
The schools we work with don't have the funds to provide their students with school supplies all year round. We provide our partner schools with clean uniforms, new backpacks, notebooks, pencils, art supplies, gym equipment and all other tools their students need to succeed.
We never hand a school a check. We work directly with the school's staff to provide their students with the exact supplies they need, shipping them new supplies as they need them!
Our story has been featured in the New York Times, Forbes, Kelly Clarkson Show, ABC News, NBC, Today Show, WWD, News 12, Mogul, and more!
Amanda started The Fashion Foundation at 23-years-old after being in the fashion industry and constantly seeing brands with excess samples and merchandise lying around their showrooms. Often times that product ended up in the garbage because no-one knew what to do with it.
Now, the The Fashion Foundation serves as a platform for designers and brands to easily donate that product to, while knowing that merchandise will help local students in need.
Amanda received her Bachelors Degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology and a Masters of Public Administration from Baruch College.
When Amanda's not at The Fashion Foundation showroom, she's probably at LIM College where she is an adjunct professor ... or she's in her car listening to Cher and Celine Dion.
